Emanuele Chisari, MD

After graduation from the University of Catania, Italy (’19), Dr. Chisari joined Rothman Orthopaedic Institute to pursue a Ph.D. in the role of the microbiome in periprosthetic joint infections. During his first PhD year, he was awarded a scholarship to attend University of Oxford (UK) for a two-year part-time program on Musculoskeletal Sciences. Public and private institutions have funded his research for over $1,100,000 through awards and grants that resulted in over 70 peer-reviewed publications, multiple book chapters, and conference presentations.
In addition to his research work, Dr. Chisari engages in company creation and investment in the life sciences. So far, he has been the co-founder of three companies and has submitted one patent as the first inventor.
